Nothing surprises me anymore. It was merely a little disheartening to me today to see that FoxNews found it necessary to suggest that their viewers would seriously consider keeping their children home from school when Obama is slated to speak. I even got a little bit of amusement out of the responses on Media Matters.

But, it got me thinking. I wonder what the several lawmakers following me on Twitter think of this, especially considering on my last census, the majority are from the GOP. I doubt that very many would have the nerve to say anything publicly, but I’ll take a shot at it.

So, if you’re a lawmaker (state or federal) or a candidate for a legislative seat, have a few seconds to spare, and have an opinion on this that you’re willing to state publicly, by all means leave a comment. (Conversely, if you’re not willing to have it out in the open, comments are moderated here, so I won’t post off-the-record responses publicly.)
