Adrian Lennon, the London based business development head of Belfast-based Being Digital, was rather proud to point this story out to me.  His firm won the LibDem web account a few months back.  Now the site is top of the pile of political party web sites.

According to analysis conducted by WebCredible, the user experience and web design outfit, the Liberal Democrats web site tops all of the other political party sites.  The report was published just a few days ago and assesses the web presence of all parties that have MPs at Westminster.

According to Webcredible, “The report builds on a recent online poll conducted by Webcredible identifying the main reasons why people would visit a political party website. Each website evaluation was conducted using 20 best practice guidelines and the results make an interesting pre-election read.”

Based on the firms analysis the Party league table is as follows (with scores achieved by each Party’s web site):

  • Liberal Democrats – 80
  • Conservatives – 67
  • Scottish National Party – 56
  • Sinn Fein – 55
  • Labour – 48
  • SDLP – 48
  • Ulster Unionist Party – 45
  • Plaid Cymru – 45
  • Respect – 32
  • Democratic Unionist Party – 26
