About Social Media Today
Back in 2009 Connecting Bristol and Overlay Media developed and piloted a “Smarter Self Reporting” app using a grant secured as from the Technology Strategy Board’s Digital Britain fund. The application uses location awareness and the phone’s camera to automate mobile reporting of issues such as graffiti and fly-tipping, to the local authority. Lewisham Council have recently launched their own similar self reporting app, “Love Clean Streets”, on a range of mobile platforms.
